Traditional Chicken |
Chickens
raised here are excellent in taste: less oil and sticky
texture. The taste is enhanced by boiling with ginseng
and hwanggi, medicinal herbs grown in on pollution-free
highlands of Mt. Taebaek

Mt.
Taebaek HOMEbred Beef
|
Mt.
Taebaek HOMEbred Beef is excellent in its texture. From
ancient times, dishes made from specially selected beef
sirloin have been famous as one of the local specialties
in the Taebaek region. Taebaek cows are raised on pollution-free
highlands, 650 meters above sea level. Unlike automated
butchery used elsewhere, Taebaek cows are butchered using
an old-fashioned methods, thereby preserving the fresh
texture of the beef. Plus, since there are no mosquitoes
in the highlands, cows can be raised in a stress-free
environment, further enhancing the taste and texture of
the beef. Once those cows from elsewhere arrive in the
Taebaek region, they are pastured in green highland fields,
and provided with fresh Taebaek water. As a result, their
body constitutions begin to change to suit the healthy
environment of Mt. Taebaek. |

Taebaek
Chicken Rib |
Chicken
in the Taebaek region differs from that in other regions.
The chicken is first grilled, vegetables such as sweet
potatoes and shepherd's purse, together with rice cake,
are added, and then some water, making a delicious,
low-fat, and relatively inexpensive dish.
