Mt. Daedeok, 1,037 meters above sea level, forms six mountains on the first part of Gumdaebong (peak) stretching to the north. Daedeoksan, together with Gumdaebong, is designated a protected ecosystem. Scarce plants can be found here such as hangyeryeongpul, daeseongssunpul and modemipul, along with such creatures as flying squirrels and salamanders. On the summit unfolds a huge green field, reminding us of a golf course. Together with the source of the Han River, it is an excellent local place to visit.
