Guncheon Valley is located to the east of Mt. Taebaeksan. When moving into abanggol and ppeonggaegol, located inside Jatnamugol (pine tree valley), you will encounter the breathtaking beauty of their surrounding landscape, full of strangely shaped stones and pristine forests. Entering further into Gumcheon Valley, you reach Munsubong peak. A youth training center and camping sites are slated for construction; crystal-clear water in the valley is the best attraction above all. Coal was first found in Geumcheon Valley in Taebaek. Geumcheon Tourist Farm and a fishing place are located here, thereby making it an attractive summer time recreation area.
